-- Australian Dideridoo based WorldBeat music with a wide multi-cultural flavor ![]() A group which has grown from 3 to 5 members over a couple of years and 3 CDs showing a lively progression in their musical variety. Tribal Trance consists of five members, Matt James, Penny Lane, Nelson Lane, Rodger Bradshaw and Rene Goetjes who joined the band in September 1998. Matt, Nelson and Rodger were the three original members of the Sunshine Coast popular group Soul Prism (Qld. Sunnie Award winners) which disbanded in late 1995. In January 1996 they formed Tribal Trance. Penny made a guest appearance on the first album 'Didgin' in the Dirt' playing keyboards. She later became a valued asset to the group with her beautiful vocals and melodious chants, which you can hear on 'Deep in Didge' which was released in 1997.
All of these musicians are multi-talented, each one able to play several instruments. They compose and arrange all their own music, and have Their third album 'Minjahra', was released in February 1999. Nelson and Rodger have taken the music overseas, busking around and doing live performance at Festivals throughout the world, gathering a large following as they go.
In 1997 Matt toured around Australia with Tony O'Connor, playing
Didgeridoo and percussion in Tony's "Experience the Magic" Concert.
Both Matt and Penny performed in Tony O'Connor Charity Concert on the
24th April 1999, at the Nambour Civic Centre.
