Bob Weir and Ratdog released their first studio recording "Evening Moods" on 8/26/00. The cd represents a creative peak for Ratdog, the band that Bob formed with Rob Wasserman and Jay Lane in 1995. "Evening Moods" is a marker in the evolution of Ratdog and Bob Weir. Never one to rush things, Bob and the boys set out to write and record a cd in 1998. 2 years and a few personnel changes later "Evening Moods" finally saw the light of day. "Moods" is not just about the level of musical maturity that Weir feels the band has attained but also about the important influences of past members of Ratdog like Dave Ellis, Matthew Kelly, Johnny Johnson and others.
