Q: Will my record be available in my local record store?
A: Good question. Your CD will be made available to your local stores through our on-demand distribution system. If your music is in demand in your local market, it will be in the store's best interest to stock your CD. We can target specific markets with our retail promotion services, or we can give you the tools and information you need to get the stores to stock your product.
Q: What is digital distribution?
A: Digital distribution is the distribution of musical content in digital form. This is the newest and most rapidly changing way to deliver your music to the consumer. There are a number of different formats currently available for digital distribution and there are new opportunities available each day. Files can be offered as downloads or they can be arranged on custom CDs. We will seek out the best opportunities in this area for the artists in the All Indie catalog.
Q: Do major labels know what you are doing?
A: Yes, actually the A&R departments of many major record labels have been instrumental in the development of All Indie. We are providing the artist development functions that are essential in building a successful artist's career. A&R execs look for artists that can demonstrate their ability to build a buzz for their music, consistently sell records , and break out of their home markets, when considering a band for signing. Contrary to common belief, it takes a lot more than a killer set of music or a great demo to get a major record deal. If signing to a major label is your goal, we help you put the pieces of the puzzle together.
Q: Do you think that the era of major labels is coming to an end?
A: Marketing and promoting records at the major label level is extremely expensive. It is not unheard of for a major label to spend a millioin dollars or more to achieve maximum market exposure for an artist. As long as the cost to saturate the music marketplace remains this high, those companies with the deepest pockets will still survive. However, digital distribution has posed a large threat to the establishment.
Q: If digital distribution is such a big deal, why are you distributing CDs to traditional retail stores?
A: While digital distribution is becoming increasingly popular, and promises to be the prefered method of obtaining music in the future, it currently only accounts for a small percentage of total music sales. Since the large majority of music sales still come from the sale of CDs it only makes sense to offer both types of distribution to the All Indie catalog.
Q: I run a small independent label, can you help me get exposure for my artists?
A: Yes you can turn to us to help you with almost every aspect of your label; from independent promotion to marketing, traditional and digital distribution.
Q: Is registering with All Indie the right choice for me?
A: That depends. How serious are you about selling your music?
We can give you the opportunity to reach music consumers around the world. We offer solutions for you to sell, promote and market your music. If these opportunities could potentially benefit your career and build or expand your fanbase, then the answer is YES.
